Due to the high population density and the presence of extensive slum areas in Bhiwandi, there was a critical need to strengthen primary healthcare infrastructure under the Bhiwandi-Nizampur City Municipal Corporation. As per public health norms, establishing one health center for every 50,000 residents was essential.
However, the Municipal Corporation faced significant challenges in achieving this target, primarily due to the unavailability of adequate land and limited cooperation from local property owners.
In response to this urgent need, Aarogya Sathi Foundation took proactive steps to bridge the gap. By collaborating closely with local property owners, the Foundation successfully established multiple Health and Wellness Centers (UHWC) and handed them over to the Municipal Corporation.

As a result, healthcare services under the HBT Aapla Dawakhana initiative have become easily accessible to citizens across the city. Today, a large number of residents are actively benefiting from these centers, significantly improving access to primary healthcare at the community level.
